Trinidad & Tobago Prisons
Okay, Okay....
I wasn't booked and charged for a crime.  I wasn't even put into a police car.
But I did go to prison and I had an amazing experience. Going to Trinidad and Tobago to open for Israel and New Breed was great, (even though I really didn't get a chance to meet them), but visiting the Juvenile Correctional Facility and then the Maximum Security Prison in order to minister to our Christian brothers who were bound, was such an awesome privilege!

Lets see, where do I start.  On the Saturday before my trek back home ( to the United States), I was invited to come out to sing and give a word of encouragement to the youth at the Trinidad & Tobago's Prison Service.  The young men there were between the ages of 15-18 years of age. As you can imagine I prayed a lot before I set foot on the grounds there because I couldn't imagine what it was that they needed to hear, besides the Gospel and- how Jesus Christ is real and -that He loves us all and -that they don't have to live mediocre lives and- that God Has such an awesome plan and purpose for there lives no matter what mistakes they've made.  So, when I tell you that God put every word in my mouth, that is exactly what happened!  Not only that, my husband got up an offered a few words as well. When  he did, he got them so  involved that they began to repeat Phil. 4:13 ("I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.").  In the act of them just repeating God's Word, we could begin to see that some of the young men had actually begun to believe it!  And I wasn't surprised because God said that His word shall not go out and return to Him void.  So in speaking the word, there was hope being created in that place.

After my husband spoke, I got up to do one last song.  I sang "Lord I believe in You" by Crystal Lewis, and God really came in and did a miraculous thing in the hearts of the people.  After I finished the song I was led  by the Spirit, to ask if there was anyone who felt that God had spoken to there hearts and if they wanted to accept Jesus as their Savior. About 25 of them raised their hand and came down to say the sinners prayer and start fresh with God.  Hallelujah!!!

Our God is an AWSOME God!!!

We proceeded on to the MSP and we were met there with extreme courtesy and genuine hospitality!  The group of Men that we met there were having a church service and they were very delighted to have us worship with them.  During our time of visitation with them, about 4 men came to Jesus as well and we just gave God the praise.  I still Give God the praise for that visit because it was He who carefully orchestrated that meeting.  It was He who gave my husband and I the right words to speak. It was He who rendered those songs of zion through me.  And in the end we were all truly blessed.

Sorry if I alarmed anyone at the penning of this story. My purpose for that was to be humorous....K!

I am so amazed by the Lord and how He moves. Because just when you think that God is doing something great in your life, He turns around and uses you for something greater!  What else can I say other than how I am elated to be used by the Father and called a servant of the Lord!

I sincerely thank Wendell Bompart(public relations officer) and his Krisna Bedassie (President of the United States & Caribbean Alliance of Criminal & Social Justice Professionals> Trinidad Chapter) for making this experience possible.
